ADHD clinic
Specialist assessments, support and care for adults with ADHD
We offer comprehensive assessments and ongoing care for adults with ADHD. Our service is available to anyone aged 18 and over, whether you’re seeking a first-time diagnosis or continued support following an earlier diagnosis.
Led by Dr Berg, an experienced consultant psychiatrist, our clinic takes a holistic and individualised approach to care. Dr Berg draws on over 20 years of NHS experience and now works solely in private practice. She follows national guidelines for assessment and is known for her clear, thoughtful, and person-centred style of care.
Thinking about an ADHD assessment?
Our ADHD assessments are designed to be thorough, collaborative, and supportive. Each assessment includes a two-hour consultation with Dr Berg, guided by national diagnostic criteria and informed by pre-assessment questionnaires. We encourage patients to share relevant history or documentation in advance, including input from someone who has known them since childhood, to help build a complete picture.
After the consultation, you’ll receive clear verbal feedback, followed by a detailed report confirming any diagnosis and outlining treatment options. A follow-up appointment is usually scheduled within a few weeks to discuss next steps and agree on a treatment plan together.
If medication is part of your care, we’ll monitor your progress closely with regular reviews and can work with your GP under a Shared Care Agreement, where appropriate. For those not pursuing medication, we also offer access to skilled psychologists with experience in neurodiversity and adult ADHD.
Appointments can take place either in person or remotely, and our team is always happy to answer any questions before you begin.

Support for Current ADHD Patients
If you’re already receiving care from Dr Berg, you’re welcome to get in touch via the office at any time with questions or concerns. While we are not an urgent service, our team is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and we’ll always do our best to support you promptly within those hours.
Follow-up appointments and reviews are a routine part of your care, especially if stimulant medication is part of your treatment plan. Because these medications are classed as controlled drugs, they can only be dispensed one month at a time. Monthly reviews are therefore required while your dose is being established. Once a stable dose is reached, the frequency of appointments may reduce, based on your progress and Dr Berg’s clinical judgement.
Please don't hesitate to contact the clinic if you need additional information or support between appointments, including resources, prescription queries, or administrative help.

Your questions
Is ADHD assessment and treatment expensive?
Yes, it can be. ADHD is a lifelong condition often not covered by private insurance, though some insurers now provide cover; it’s worth checking with yours. If prescribed stimulant medication, you’ll need monthly reviews until a stable dose is found. Medication must be dispensed monthly due to regulations, and private prescription and admin charges may apply.
Can my GP take over prescribing through a Shared Care Agreement?
Yes, if your GP agrees. Dr Berg supports Shared Care Agreements but will still require periodic reviews even if your GP prescribes the medication.
Do you offer autism assessments?
No, the clinic does not provide autism assessments. However, they may be able to recommend specialists, contact the clinic for advice.
I already have an ADHD diagnosis, do I need another assessment?
This depends on your circumstances. If your diagnosis was made outside the UK, a full reassessment will be required. Contact the clinic to discuss your specific case.
Do I need a full ADHD assessment if I’ve had a general psychiatric assessment?
Usually, yes. ADHD assessments are more structured and focused on symptom history, including details collected through pre-appointment questionnaires. Contact the clinic to discuss your situation.
