Our services

Our approach is patient-focused: we’ll discuss your options clearly and work with you to find the right course of treatment.

At The Psychiatric Care Clinic, we specialise in assessing and diagnosing a range of mental health conditions. We understand the importance of a compassionate and considered approach, and we take a holistic view when supporting each person’s mental health.

As a CQC-registered clinic, we’re committed to maintaining the highest standards of care. Our consultants work closely with a trusted network of independent psychologists practising various therapy modalities. Services we offer

Initial psychiatric assessment

Our psychiatric assessments last up to 45–60 minutes. You’ll have the opportunity to talk about your current symptoms and work with your consultant to develop a personalised treatment plan. We’ll also explore your medical and personal history to understand your mental health better. Read our step-by-step guide to help you understand the assessment process.

Diagnosis and treatment planning

We place strong emphasis on collaboration and transparency. Your consultant will work with you to decide on the most appropriate next steps, which might include psychological therapy, medication, or a combination of both. If therapy is recommended, we can refer you to one of the experienced psychologists we work with.

Medication management

If medication is part of your treatment plan, your consultant will discuss the options and answer any questions. Follow-up appointments lasting up to 30 minutes will be scheduled as needed to review how you’re doing and make any adjustments.

Follow-up consultations

These review appointments (typically up to 30 minutes) are an opportunity to reflect on your progress, raise any concerns, and adjust your treatment as needed. Your consultant will provide ongoing support and guidance throughout your care.

Liaison with other professionals

With your consent, we’re happy to share relevant medical correspondence with your GP or referring clinician. Let your consultant or the clinic know if you prefer not to share this information. In rare cases with serious concerns about your safety or someone else’s, we may be obliged to share information without consent.

Next steps

We accept both self-referrals and referrals from GPs. Ideally, we ask for a referral at the point of initial contact. If you’re self-referring, we’ll ask you to provide some information about your symptoms and medical history to confirm we’re the right service for you.

Fees and insurance

We work with all major UK private health insurers, including: AXA PPP, BUPA, Cigna, AVIVA, Vitality Health, Healix, WPA and Geoblue.

For self-funding patients:

  • Initial assessment (up to 60 minutes): £500

  • Follow-up appointment (up to 30 minutes): £250
